Booking and Cancellation Policy

CONSULTATIONS: Initial consultations are free. They take about 30 minutes. We will take down pet and contact info, and go over what needs to be done while you are gone. We require a signed contract before we can care for your pet. Unless there are major changes to discuss, you will be charged the price of one visit for us to come back for a 2nd consult. If you want to make sure that you have told us everything and want to go over it, a note is the best way to do this.

KEYS: We prefer to hold onto your key for future visits. Keys that are not being used are stored in a locked key box. Keys are never labeled with your last name or address. We will gladly pick your key up one time at no charge. After that, there will be a $5 charge for drop off or pick up.

VISITING HOURS: We generally perform visits between 7 AM - 9 PM. We are unable to guarantee exact times for visits. They are based on the pet sitter’s route. We generally perform visits within 1 1/2 hours of the time requested.

Morning visits generally are from 7-10:30 am
Midday from 10:30 -2:30
Late afternoon from 2:30 -4:30
Evening from 7-9pm
For dogs we try to space visits approximately 6 hours apart, no more than 12 hours overnight. Once a day cat visits are done at our convenience, unless otherwise agreed upon.

LENGTH OF VISITS: Each visit lasts 20-30 minutes. Additional time can be added for $2 for 10 minutes if we need more time to complete tasks (such as watering lots of plants)

CANCELLATION POLICY: Please contact us 24 hours before the first visit. If you arrive home early or depart late, please call our cell phone to save us an unnecessary trip and to avoid being charged.

For mid-day walks, please contact us by 10 AM. You will be charged the full visit price if you wait to cancel until we arrive at your house. If there is no answer at the main number (508-339-5607), please call the cell phone number (774-219-3470). We may be out performing visits, and may not get back to check the machine.

LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS:
NEW CLIENTS - We ask that new clients give at least 10 days notice so we can schedule an initial consultation.
VACATIONERS - Please book at least 1 week before you leave
WEEKENDS - Please book at least 4 days before you leave.
DAILY WALKS and INDIVIDUAL VISITS - Please give at least 24 hours notice

Pet Care

CARING FOR CATS EVERY OTHER DAY: We strongly advise against this. Most pet sitters and vets agree that cats should be seen at least every 24 hours. An otherwise healthy cat can develop a urinary blockage and die within 48 hours.

ADMINISTERING OF MEDICATION: We are experienced at giving pills and liquid medication. We do not give injections due to the higher risk involved. If your cat has a tendency to hide or becomes aggressive, it may not be possible to medicate him/her. If you think your cat may hide please keep him/her in a room where we will be able to get to him/her.

SICK PETS: We do not knowingly accept sitting assignments with sick pets. We firmly believe that sick pets belong under the constant care of a veterinarian. However, if you have aged, infirm, or medicated pets, this is not a problem if you discuss with us the special needs of the pet. If your pet shows signs of illness, we will attempt to reach you and take the pet to your veterinarian. The vet transport fee is $35 within 6 miles. If your vet is not available, or if it is after hours, we will take your pet to our vet or anywhere we can get in.
